Drip Edge protects your underlying roofing components

This week is Part 2 of our four-part series.

Drip edge is a metal flashing that is attached to the eaves of your roof above the gutters to prevent the roll back effect when water drains off your roof. We do not want to see water on the fascia or in the soffits so having an edge metal that allows better drainage is important.

When your gutters are not sloped well or get full of leaves and debris the drainage can be insufficient causing ice build up that will lead to ice dams on your roof. The eaves above your gutters have a peel and stick adhesive material that bonds to the roof decking for more protection. This application can also be used to protect skylight curbs, vents and valleys where a lot of snow and ice will accumulate or need to move around.

We replace roof flashing to fix leaks and to add curb appeal to your home. Contact us today at (587) 229-8076 for a detailed assessment of your roofing needs.
